Contract on My House

Yes it's true. I have a contract on my house. How great is that?!! Now I'm trying to be reserved in my joyfulness in the possible happenstance that it falls through. Close date is November 29. Wahooo.. Uuhuhmm.. Reserved, man, be reserved...

NOT!!! What was I thinking of course not. There is no way on this planet that anything would go my way this easy. Ha-ha. Life said, Made ya look. The people's financing fell through. I'm stuck, bad. Oh well life goes on.... Anyone interested in buying a working class person's house, cheap? Didn't think so....

A slow Saturday...Who knew?
Just thought I'd stop a make a quick post on my blog for the 3 or 4 people who even know about it.
I'm having a slow Saturday. I've been sick since Wednesday evening with a head cold. Lots of ..um ..drainage. Post nasal drip. Oh, you know, the snots. I hung around the house quite a bit. Felt like I've been here enough to say I actually live here. Usually takes a while when you only sleep at a place.
The kids are doing fine is school. Anna doesn't seem to have any problems with 1st grade. It seems like last years work was about the same as this years. She is a smart one.
Ricky is beginning to make friends. He was the one who felt like he lost the most when we left Lexington. He had lots of friends. But initially here he didn't. He's got a good friend named Jacob that he goes over to his house a lot.
Chip has started track this year. It's something new the school is doing this year. Takes a lot of time of his and ours to go back and forth. He seam to enjoy it.
Mary likes her work still. She doesn't like the in house politics that goes with it. But then, who does???
Last week I celebrated me 1 year anniversary with CSC. BIW is going through their end of year processes which always means a lot of hand ringing for budgets and managers bringing pressure on hours. They cut every where and expect you to find you own rock to stand on.
The house is still on the market. I'll post the link to the pictures. Lots better than last time. Let's hope this ends soon.
That's all from Maine. Take care all..

Back from KY
Just made it back last night from our world wind return to Kentucky. Everyone there is there. I'd like to appologize to those 2 or 3 friends I didn't get to get by to see. You know who you are and I'm sorry. Maybe next time. I plan on returning at Christmas. Hopefully less rushed and less house fixing to do. (please let it sell before then.)
The ride home was a lot better than the one down. Driving all day is much better than driving all night....
We went today, Labor Day, to Walmart and bought the kids their back to school supplies. Wow! I'm broke now.
School starts tomorrow. Mary and I are back to work. Oh, boy.

Going camping...

The whole Glantz clan ia going camping for the whole weekend to Dolly Copp. I've pulled the tent, sleeping bags, and fishing gear out of storage. Should be a great time.
Funny idea hit me last night. I was trying to figure out how to get our air matress blown up. I've asked around to see if anyone has an airpump. Nothing that fits the bill is available. I thought that just before I reached for my breathing machine. Hmm. Breathing Machine. Air pump. Hmm... Maybe...
Mary's trip to Lexington
I would like to thank all those people who went out of their way to help my wife enjoy her vacation time. She had the time of her life(except the sun burn(ouch!)). Special times like this help unite people's heart and build life long relationships. When we get to busy to enjoy life, what life do we have? I hope to make a journey myself back in the near future. Times are just bit rough right now. We shall see what we shall see.

New technology.
Very few times in recent days have I tried something new in the world of computers and technology. I read an article and tried G.HO.ST. That is something very interesting and I wonder where it is heading. If you wanna try something new, sign up and try it. It's new and full of bugs and not really useful yet, but the possibilities are reall cool.
Rough week
Last week was really rough. What is the weather saying for March, "In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb". April was the other way, "In Like a Lamb, Out Like a Lion".
More..um..upleasant..um..stuff has happened in the last few weeks.
My grandmother has been very ill and in-and-out of the hospital. The doctors don't know what is wrong. Guesses is about all I'm hearing about. I love her very much. I pray she gets well soon.
My best friend, my nephew-in-law, here in Maine is "probably" moving away. He has a job opportunity in Greenville, SC. Isn't that ironic.
My house hasn't sold yet and my real estate agent in KY has given up the fight. I've not decided on what to do next. My dad is going to try a thing or two. He's the greatest.
Since my house hasn't sold, the people I've rented my house from has decided it's been long enough and has "asked" me to leave at the end of the month. They've not been the most supportive people, but I do understand wanting to get your money out of real estate. I would understand if he had sold the house to someone else. I definitely would be glad for him then, but his daughter has talked him into this so she can have the place.
I've not found a new place yet. I've talked to my nephew-in-law about his place since he will "probably" be leaving at the end of the month. Nothing definite there yet.
One good thing, Mary just got a new job at Intercoast Career Institute. It sounds like great opportunity. This will setup so that even my if house doesn't sell for a while we can get a new home.

No SALE.
Apparently the people that wanted our house didn't get preapproved and were denied the loan.
We continue to wait for God's timing.

Where did the global warming go?
Suddenly reality hits. Yes, it is cold here in the fridged North East. What happened to the 60's of a week ago Saturday? Did you guys stop using your aerosol hair spray or sell your SUV? Come on. I was planning on building a year round ocean beach front resort up by Mt. Washington after the glaciers fell in. Oh, well, I guess I'll stay inside and drink some delicious California Orange Juice.

Anna's Accident
Okay. Details on my daughters accident. My wife and I were sitting in our living room watching TV and the kids were in the den watching their shows on the little screen. We had taken all the Christmas decorations down, but hadn't put them away because there had been a minor icestorm the day before and there was lots a slick spots about. My oldest decided he would move the Christas tree pole. Now we have a fake Christmas tree which surpises most Main-ards. It was heavier than he expected and it fell on my daughters fore head. Right about here left eye. It's very odd to see how different people react to events in different ways. My oldest went, held my daughter, and yelled for me and my younger son ran off and hid. I was the first to arrive and panicked just a bit. This scared my wife worse than what any of my kids had done. Her head was bleeding moderately. My wife held her and I ran around getting towels to put on the wound. My niece is a nurse. She lives 6 doors down. I called her she came down and helped us dress the wound. I decided to take her to the hospital because I hated for it to scar worse than I expect it would. Anna was very brave through it all. When they gave her the local annestetic I grabbed her legs and mom grabbed her hands when she flinched. I hated that part. They sowed her up with just three stiches. After the stiches we bragged on how brave she was. She told us it didn't hurt that bad except for the part were daddy squeezed her legs too hard. Apparently I forgot to let go after she flinched and had been squeezing her the whole time. The doctor told us to come back in 5 days to have the stitches removed. She'll be fine. Really.
